Black Girl Magik seeks to create a community among women of African descent to explore, express, create and conjure conversation, art, and self-care. Our programming and production connect talented black women across creative industries. At BGM, we believe that when individuals are equipped with the necessary tools and support, they can create healing and empowering opportunities for other women through their experiences.
We organize, host, partner and develop a variety of programming; from communal healing workshops to panels focused on professional exchange or critical discourse, each event is focused on unity, empowerment, and growth. Our production is centered around the arts, community, entrepreneurship, mental health, and personal and professional development.
Hosted by Black Girl Magik and Playground Coffee Shop, The Crossover Series created space to take a finer look at the issues that our community battles with, carrying out an open forum discussion to dissolve tension and attempt solutions in the neighborhood.
BGM-led panel discussion consist of highlighting various black women to provide insight on their experience. These events can be hosted in collaboration with Black History Month, Women’s History Month and other similar themes.
Curated lecture series on self-care, communal care, love, intersectional feminism, African-American History and implementation of practices geared to growth. We can work with you to develop custom lesson plans that fulfill course curriculum requirements while also adding depth and coursework to lessons with original and unique content.
