meetups, connections & conversations in every city.
This is not a typical meetup. In the words of Nina Simone, “We are here to open people up.” You will float on joy. You will cry. You will laugh. And shake away your fears, okurrrt.
At a BGM production, you don’t meet a stranger, you meet a sister. It is the ancestral connectedness throughout the African diaspora that will heal us, teach us and grow us.
During our tour, we will be strategizing with other organizers and creatives in each city we visit, as we recognize that our work can’t exist within a vaccuum.
Black Girl Magik is a collective of artists, community organizers, and makers conjuring a transnational sisterhood for women across the African diaspora. Our mission is to unite and empower women of African descent by cultivating space and uplifting our experiences through community programming, online content and creative productions. By sharing these experiences, we seek to heal the collective consciousness and generational trauma across the African diaspora.
